What We Believe In
Dr Han’s approach to Chinese Medicine and treatments
We believe in giving our clients an understanding and courteous approach to their condition. We start with a one-hour consultation, whereby we listen to you.
It is paramount that we understand how long you have been suffering, what treatments you have used in the past.
Not only are all people different but they also all have different perspectives on their condition.
Dr Han and his wife Yan ask that you be open and candid in your consultation, as they want to recommend the right treatment for you and for your body and mind.
We also take a great deal of time to explain what you can expect from Traditional Chinese Medicine and give you a detailed explanation of what you can expect from our practices.
Who is Traditional Chinese Medicine Right for?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is ideal for people looking for a natural, holistic approach to health.
It’s especially suited to those who want to treat the root cause of an issue, not just the symptoms and who are open to combining modern and traditional approaches to wellness.
TCM may be an ideal response to those managing chronic conditions like digestive problems, stress, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, migraines, or low energy.
However, it’s also popular for pain relief (such as back pain or arthritis), skin conditions, and even boosting fertility or immune health.
Many people turn to TCM when they feel that Western medicine alone isn’t giving them the full picture.
How TCM Differs from Western Medicine
Western medicine often focuses on diagnosing and treating specific diseases, usually through medication or surgery. It’s excellent in emergencies or when fast, targeted intervention is needed.
However, TCM, on the other hand, looks at your body as an interconnected system. It aims to balance energy (Qi), support your body’s natural healing abilities, and prevent problems before they start—using acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet, massage (Tui Na), and more.
Pros:
- Gentle, non-invasive treatments
- Focus on prevention and overall well-being
- Fewer side effects than many medications
- Customised, person-centred care
Cons:
- Slower-acting than some Western treatments
- Requires consistency and commitment
- Not always covered by Private health insurance

Final Thought
TCM isn’t about choosing one system over another. It’s about balance.
Many people find the best results by integrating both approaches.
